We had just 24 hours to deliver the critical supplies from India following a devastating landslide.

Getting urgent relief aid to Papua New Guinea

After a devastating landslide hit Papua New Guinea, a shipper in India tasked us with arranging the door-to-door delivery of 19 tonnes of relief aid. The cargo included vital supplies such as temporary shelters, food and medicine, which were urgently needed to support those affected, meaning we had just 24 hours to transport it all on one flight.

Our Solution

Route: Delhi > Port Moresby

Aircraft: Boeing 737-800

Getting straight to work on the urgent request, our cargo experts sourced a Boeing B737-800 that could move the heavy load in one go. The aircraft was based in the region and competitively priced, making it ideal for our client’s timeframe and budget.

Our offices in India and Australia worked together across different time zones to secure the necessary permits and arrange transfer of the cargo from the airport to its end destination in Papua New Guinea. In order to operate the flight non-stop without a layover for crew rest, we arranged to rotate staff during two quick tech stops.

The Finer Details

Rapid Response: We found a solution within minutes of receiving the client’s call, leveraging our contacts in India and Papua New Guinea to speed up the approval process.

Attention to Detail: Despite the short notice, we arranged for banners featuring the Indian flag to be placed on the cargo palettes.
