We had just 24 hours’ notice to help the events agency of a hospitality school in Málaga fly 140 students to Madrid for their connecting flight home to Saudi Arabia after completing a course, before taking the next group of students back to Malaga to begin their studies. The client had never chartered before as their students usually transfer by bus or train, but for this large group they needed an alternative that wouldn’t break the budget.

We sourced a B737-800 positioned overnight in Madrid, which could operate a cost-effective night flight before returning to the airport in time for its next scheduled flight.
Each passenger was travelling with two suitcases plus hand luggage for their connecting flight to Saudi Arabia. This exceeded the operator’s baggage allowance, but they agreed not to charge extra for the additional weight.
