Chartering for an orchestra’s European tour
We were asked to help with the air travel for a German orchestra’s tour of Europe. The organisers were using scheduled services wherever possible to keep costs down, but low availability meant an aircraft charter was needed for two of the performance dates. We set about finding a budget-friendly solution.
Our Solution
Route: Madrid > Hamburg, Berlin > Brussels
Aircraft: A321, A320
Our team searched the market and sourced two narrow-body aircraft from operators with experience in transporting orchestras.
Both aircraft had space in the cabin for the 120 passengers and their equipment, with larger instruments stored on extra seats and smaller instruments in the overhead compartments.
The Finer Details
Rapid Response: We found a solution within two days of receiving this request.
Industry Relationships: When a ground handling strike in Berlin threatened to disrupt one of the flights, we reached out to our contacts and quickly found a replacement handler.
